Do I need hardwired?
Ohio residential code requires hardwired, interconnected smoke detectors in every new home and in any renovation where walls are opened. Battery-only units are still legal in older homes, but hardwired-with-battery-backup is the modern safe standard.
What we install
- Hardwired 120V smoke detectors with 10-year battery backup.
- Interconnected across the whole home per NFPA 72.
- Combination smoke + carbon monoxide (CO) units.
- Replacement of expired detectors (10-year limit).
- Placement on every level and outside every sleeping area.
- First Alert, Kidde and BRK compatible.
