    Why does a Tesla need a 50 amp circuit?

    The Tesla Wall Connector and most Level 2 chargers pull between 32 and 48 continuous amps. Per NEC 625.41 the circuit must be sized at 125% of that load, which means a dedicated 50 or 60 amp breaker with #6 AWG copper. A poorly calculated install can overheat the wiring, trip the breaker constantly or, worst case, start an electrical fire.
